29th August - Las Vegas, new and old !

A lazy day today by the pool,  recovering from last night. Helen convinced me we didn't need to go charging up and down the strip in 110 degree heat today, even by bus, so this is what we did, in and out of the pool and hot tub until about 4pm. I fancied heading up to the Wynn Hotel and Casino later to check out the recommended buffet for 48 dollars you could eat all you can from a huge variety. We both loved it, incredibly clean with a flower theme, I was soon cracking crabs legs and peeling the giant shrimp, and Helen having a great selection from the sweet counter. Later, we enjoyed a go on the slots, with a free drink (the roulette was 25 dollars minimum bet here) and enjoyed the Lake of Dreams show (on Mark's recommendation - thanks mate). Then came the not so good part of the evening. All recommendations suggest you must visit Fremont St and the 'Fremont Experience' in the old Downtown part. Unfortunately, we found it quite seedy along with the smell of 'weed' making us both feel sick had us back in the expensive taxi ride back to the hotel. Oh well, you win some you lose some as they say in Vegas! At least we got to see the huge neon signs. The longest drive of the trip tomorrow, so we packed up in preparation for an early start in the morning. Vegas is great for a few days, but we had had enough now, it's so full on, in your face and a money drain, we couldn't wait to hit the road again and get out!

Heart Attack Grill. Everyone in hospital gowns. Didn't fancy it on account that I would spend the night chewing down anti acid tablets šŸ¤¢
